Oriann

This is the moment Oriann awaited for several weeks. Comanche is not a big horse...small, like an Arab. He's half Arab, half Quarter Horse. Even at this size and having been raised with him, Oriann is still a bit intimidated by Comanche. She's seen him at his most rambunctious. Eventually she'll be comfortable enough to take him out by herself.

We built a very nice pool! It was nearly level and deep enough to play around in. Look at lower left and lower right for perspective on the pool's construction : our small crew moved tons of dirt.

Counter-clockwise from the ladder : Celina Hall, Barb Tarvid, Oriann, Woody, and Steve Wolfe.

Left to Right : Cassie, Oriann and Precious. I think Cassie was sitting on her tail wrong as she let out a yelp that startled Oriann.

These are the two babies Barb and Jim rescued from the shelter. There was another one, a male, but he was adopted just before Barb and Jim got there. These two were going to be put down that same day if they didn't find a home. They went in looking for one and got two.

Could you have chosen which one to save knowing whichever one you left was doomed? I couldn't.

Oriann has improper shoes for digging the pool basin. That look could kill, but I doubt shoes are the cause.

Jim Tarvid explains strategy for levelling the pool basin while Bobby listens. The strategy included that impressive tiller in the foreground which, unfortunately, refused to cooperate before human-powered assaults achieved the goal. Oriann, almost hidden behind Bobby, rarely listens and this rare moment of basin leveling is preserved for the unbelieving to see.

Mommy hands River to Aunt Oriann. River loves people!

River is drawn to Aunt Amy's voice while Aunt Oriann tries to tease some attention. If Amy is not in her line of sight and River hears her voice she just about gives herself whiplash trying to find Amy!
